These modules are covered in detail in the ITIL® 4 Digital and IT Strategy (DITS) training: Module 1: This module covers various concepts related to digital technology, business and organization, including digitalization and digital transformation. It also addresses topics such as business strategy, business models, digital and IT strategy, and products and services. Module 2: The purpose of this module is to explore how the ITIL guiding principles, including focus on value, getting started, iterative progress with feedback, collaboration and promoting visibility, holistic thinking and working, simplicity and practical attitude, and optimization and automation, relate to various aspects of digital and IT strategy. In addition, we will explore how digital strategy can be used to respond to digital disruption and understand the relationship between digital and IT strategy and the components of the ITIL SVS. Module 3: The purpose of this module is to focus on how organizations use digital and IT strategy to remain competitive in digitally disrupted environments. It covers the explanation and comparison of three levels of digital disruption: Ecosystem, Industry/Market and Organization. In addition, it examines how an organization’s market or industry position is shaped by factors such as achieving customer/market relevance, operational excellence, internal and external focus, and a balanced approach. Finally, it demonstrates the application of a digital positioning tool to determine the ideal position for a digital organization. Module 4: The purpose of this module is to focus on environmental analysis, which includes two key components: external analysis using the PESTLE framework, which assesses the political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors that influence an organization’s landscape, and internal analysis, which focuses on the four dimensions of service management. In addition, this module equips you with the knowledge to use a digital readiness assessment tool to conduct a gap analysis that allows you to assess the discrepancy between an organization’s current state and its desired position in the digital realm. Module 5: The purpose of this module is to focus on essential topics, including defining and effectively communicating a vision and strategy. It also looks at the financial aspects of digital and IT strategy, covering areas such as financial policy, portfolio optimization, funding projects, products and services, striking the right balance between innovation and operating costs and exploring charging models. You will also gain insights into the use of business cases as a compelling tool to make the case for digital and IT strategy. Module 6: This module aims to provide learners with a deep understanding of essential strategies for digital organizations.
It covers customer-centric techniques such as customer journey mapping, omnichannel support, context-aware delivery, customer analytics and feedback. It also looks at achieving operational excellence across service management dimensions and evaluating tailored strategic approaches to digital environments to enable individuals to effectively navigate the evolving digital landscape. Module 7: The purpose of this module is to understand the ability to implement different strategy coordination and execution approaches, including large-scale transformation, incremental transformation, mergers and acquisitions and individual change. You will also gain insight into the typical activities associated with a digital transformation program, equipping you with valuable knowledge to effectively navigate the digital landscape. Module 8: The purpose of this module is to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the implementation and evaluation of digital and IT strategies. It focuses on evaluating strategy success, exploring key elements within measurement and reporting practices. Module 9: The purpose of this module is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to analyze and address VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Amguity) factors within a digital and IT strategy. Furthermore, it enables learners to demonstrate the important link between an organization’s viability and its agility, resilience, leanness, continuity and co-creational capabilities. Through this module, individuals will gain insights into effectively navigating the dynamic digital landscape. Module 10: The purpose of this module is to focus on the concept of innovation and cover its fundamental elements and techniques. We explore what drives innovation, the importance of creativity, problem solving and adaptability in the process. In addition, learners will gain practical insights into the application of various techniques to foster and sustain a culture of innovation within an organization. Module 11: The purpose of this module is to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in risk management within a digital organization. By the end of this module, you will have the ability to explain the principles of risk management within a digital organization. In addition, you will be adept at identifying and assessing risks in the area of digital and IT strategy. The concept of risk posture and demonstrating the ability to determine an appropriate balance between opportunity and risk will also be covered. Furthermore, you will be able to test and consolidate your knowledge with a summary, learning checklist at the end of each module. At the end of the course, an overall summary is available and you can test your knowledge with quizzes.
